Nurse!
I have been an RN for almost 18 years and I'm sure it ranks in 1st place for the title of " Most Rewarding yet most Demeaning way to earn a Living!" Unhappily for me, today NOT been rewarding and If I don't take a few moments to vent I'm afraid I may just become homicdal!
IT'S THE DOCTORS!!! Every single doc that has done rounds today has acted like an asshole and I don't know for much longer I can bite my tounge while I endure their temper tantrums at the nurses station! Today, they can't find their charts, pens, stethoscopes, not even their own cup of coffee! One doc screamed at another nurse because a patient had refused to take his AM meds (the patient was nauseated) and I just got my head bit off because I had to call a doc half an hour after he finished rounds to clarify an order he wrote! ( If he could write instead of scribble I wouldn't have interrupted his golf game) Now I need to clarify that I have know many kind and brilliant doc's..in fact my grandfather was a well respected and loved Dr. during and after WW2, and I have 2 uncles and 1 aunt that are Doctors. But I work on a surgical floor and surgeon's are known to have the"God Complex" worse than any other specialty. All I know is that if I have to tolerate one more boorish, sniveling wonder boy I may end up loosing my temper.
I wonder how much money truck drivers make?
