Tattoos and Work
The folks against ink are ALWAYS going to be against ink. I have a good portion of my own body covered in ink and I didn't do it for anyone else but myself. So for those of you out there who disagree with my decision to get tattooed, I DON'T CARE.As for being hired and showing or not showing your tattoos.....
I know I'm an excellent worker. Anyone not willing to hire me because of my decorated skin, you're the one losing out, not me. Being rejected by you/your company doesn't matter to me because I would never want to work somewhere where I can't be myself. Does this mean I work at a tattoo parlor/MMJ dispensary/whore house, etc. etc. etc?
No. I work in the medical field. I wear scrubs every single day. Short sleeved scrubs. That do NOT hide my sleeved arms. I did not hide them during my interview and I do not hide them during my shifts. I don't have to take out my gauges or my piercings. I was hired specifically for my expertise and experience. My employers only cared about whether or not I could do my job. And I'm great at what I do.
I'm happy doing what I went to school for and I don't have to pretend I'm someone I'm not. I like art. GOOD tattoos require talent on the artist's part. They don't really hurt and years from now, when I'm old and saggy, my tattoos will cover up liver spots and spider veins. And when I start losing my mind while sitting in some nursing home, my ink will hopefully serve as a link to my past and my memory, keeping me sane for that much longer.
I don't hate/talk crap/etc on people withOUT tattoos.... and I'm supposed to be the terrible one since I'm inked right? Then why are the ones without ink the ones being hateful and close minded?
Bottom line, if you don't like tattoos, I don't care and if you won't hire me because of my tattoos, that's fine because I have a better job that doesn't care about what I do with my skin.
IBF!!!
