Olive Garden
Begrudgingly went here last nit for my friend's bday. She luvs Olive Garden, I despise it. And my long-standing opinion held true once again.****service sucked*****some of the worst service i've been a witness to in a long time**********. After hearing the wait would be 25-30 minutes (on a Wed), we sat and waited. Finally got a seat in the bar after 20 minutes. About to gnaw our fingers off, 10 mins later and still not acknowledged in any way by the wait staff, i finally went up to the waiters behind the bar and asked how we can *at least* get some bread sticks. waiter was rude. a ton of waiters walking around, chatting to each other in corners, absolutely NO sense of urgency even though there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. FINALLY got seated after 45 minutes of waiting. Walking to the table i told the host that it was my friend's bday. During dinner, our waitress Kat got part of our order wrong. 2 other tables there were also having their bdays got the wait staff to sing to them and got a slice of cake. When I pulled my waitress Kat aside to tell her that i told the host that it was my friend's bday, she starred back @ me blankly and said "oh, we don't celebrate bdays here at olive garden." Was I in crazy land? So I pointed to the other tables that just got happy bday sung to them with ONE slice of cake handed to the bday person. She responded that the party had set it up and that the staff just sang it out of courtesy. Right, with 1 slice of cake for a table of 6. BS. The tiny lil mom and pop mexican restaurant my friend and I went to for my birthday at least gave us a tiny lil plate of flan, and olive garden can't even give 1 morsel of anything? For the prices they charge for sub-par fake italian food?? BS. This morning my stomach hurts. I've avoided Olive Garden for years because i've never been impressed, and after this experience it reinforced my opinion. I was absolutely embarrassed to be a host to my friend's bday dinner, and have to watch 2 other parties get their bday acknowledged and we were shot down when we asked if her bday could be acknowledged, like the others had been. I *HATE* olive garden. Call-to-speak-to-the-manager-today-worthy. Now on to complain on gri.pe first ;).
